Product Information
- Imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-carboxylic acid, 2-methyl-, methyl ester
Methyl 2-methylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-carboxylate is a rhenium compound that yields carboxylates. It is a molecule that contains molybdenum and electronic spectra. It can be prepared by acetonitrile reduction of ligands in refluxing hexacarbonyl or by thermally induced reductive coupling of a polynuclear moiety. The compound has been shown to have reductive properties and the ability to form stable complexes with a variety of metal ions. Methyl 2-methylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-carboxylate has been used as a ligand for the preparation of metal complexes. It has also been shown to exhibit diffraction properties characteristic of hexacarbonyl compounds at high temperatures.
