It has been shown to have antiestrogenic activity in an assay using calf thymus DNA and bacterial DNA gyrase, topoisomerase IV, and RNA polymerase. Bis[4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl]methanone has also been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines in a mouse model of inflammation.
