3-(3-Acetylbenzenesulfonamido)propanoic acid is a peptide inhibitor that binds to the extracellular domain of the human erythropoietin receptor. It has been shown to inhibit erythropoiesis in vivo and in vitro by inhibiting the activation of erythroid progenitors. 3-(3-Acetylbenzenesulfonamido)propanoic acid is an activator of the vasopressin receptor. It can be used as a research tool for studying protein interactions, and is also used to prepare antibodies against the vasopressin receptor.
