Product Information
Thiophen-3(2H)-one is an organic compound that has been found to be a potent inhibitor of both the human and rat CYP2B6 enzymes. It also inactivates proton pumps and stabilizes carbonyl groups. This compound has been shown to inhibit cancer cells in vitro, but its effect on human cancers remains unknown. The tautomeric form of thiophen-3(2H)-one is 3,4-dihydrobenzofuran-5-carboxylic acid, which is reactive with chlorine. Thiophen-3(2H)-one's viscosity is higher than that of most other organic compounds due to the presence of a cyclopentadienyl group.
