2-Methylsulfinylbenzenecarboxylic acid (MSB) is an inorganic compound, which is a ligand in photochromism. It can be used to activate the reaction solution and kinetics of the cyclic voltammetry. MSB has been shown to react with acetonitrile to form sulfoxide, which has absorption spectroscopy that is constant and methanol as solvent. This compound is soluble in solvents such as acetonitrile, dichloromethane, and tetrahydrofuran.
