Isogibberellic acid is a dicarbonyl that is a natural product of gibberellin. It is used in the production of liquid chromatography as an internal standard for quinine, which is used in food chemistry. Isogibberellic acid has been shown to have a kinetic effect on seed germination and plant growth. The transfer of gibberellins from one plant to another and their conversion to other forms are mediated by systematic enzymes.
