Product Information
- 2,2-Bisbenzothiazoline
- 2,2',3,3'-Tetrahydro-2,2'-Bi-1,3-Benzothiazole
2,2'-Bibenzothiazoline is a synthetically produced phenothiazine drug with anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties. It has been shown to have the ability to activate quinone reductase and inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. This drug also has analgesic effects and may be used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. 2,2'-Bibenzothiazoline is synthesized by condensation reactions between butyllithium and either 2-chloro- or 2-bromobenzene. The resulting product is then condensed with carbonyl compounds (e.g., acetophenone) to produce the final product.
