- Heptyl nonyl phthalate
Heptyl nonyl phthalate-d4 (HNP-d4) is a monomer that can be used to form coatings and encapsulations. HNP-d4 has been shown to have a high uptake in cells, which may be due to the hydrophobic nature of its functional groups. HNP-d4 also has photopolymerizable properties, which make it an excellent candidate for use in biocompatible polymer coatings and encapsulations. This material is neutralized by diluents such as fatty acids or polymers, making it suitable for use with a variety of matrices. HNP-d4 is reactive but can be polymerized using various methods, including free radical initiation or cationic initiation.
