Product Information

Name:
Methyl 2-oxotetrahydrofuran-3-carboxylate
Description:

Methyl 2-oxotetrahydrofuran-3-carboxylate is a synthetic compound that activates the PI3K pathway, which is a lipid kinase. It has been shown to be potent antiproliferative in cancer cell lines and xenografts. Methyl 2-oxotetrahydrofuran-3-carboxylate has been shown to inhibit the production of phosphatidylinositol, an important intermediate in the PI3K pathway. This inhibition leads to tumor cell apoptosis by inhibiting cyclic AMP synthesis, leading to decreased protein synthesis and DNA replication. In addition, this compound may also have antitumor activity by targeting the skeleton or structure of tumor cells.
