Cerium(III) chloride hydrate is a compound that can be used as a catalyst in organic synthesis. It is produced by the reaction of cerium metal and hydrochloric acid, and has a crystalline structure. Cerium(III) chloride hydrate has been shown to have antimicrobial properties against bacteria and fungi, as well as anti-inflammatory properties. The average particle diameter of cerium(III) chloride hydrate is 3.2 nm, with a viscosity of 0.31 Pa·s at 25°C. The activation energy of the reaction is 8.6 kJ/mol for the light emission process.
