2,3-Dimethylheptan-3-ol is a monohydric alcohol with the molecular formula CH(CH) (OH)CH. It is a colorless liquid that boils at 131 °C and has a density of 0.811 g/mL. 2,3-Dimethylheptan-3-ol can be found as an isomer mixture with 2,2,4,4-tetramethylhexane-1-ol in the form of plates. The sequence elements are C(6), H(6), C(6), H(6). 2,3-Dimethylheptan-3-ol has been shown to act as an inhibitor of monooxygenases and catalyze aldehyde reduction products. It also exhibits biochemical properties such as phenotype and reduction products. The strain used for this experiment was Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
