Stattic is a small molecule that binds to DNA and prevents the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Stattic has been shown to have synergistic effects with radiation in the treatment of cancer. Stattic also has pro-apoptotic activity, which leads to the activation of caspases, which are enzymes responsible for apoptosis. Stattic inhibits hyperproliferative disease by binding to DNA and preventing transcription, which prevents protein synthesis from occurring. This drug also has anti-cancer properties due to its ability to bind to DNA and inhibit cellular transformation.
