3-(5'-O-dimethoxytrityl)-β-D-2-deoxyribofuranosyl)-6-methylpyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2-one is a nucleoside analog. It has an antiviral activity against herpes simplex virus type 1 and type 2 and can be used for the treatment of cancer. 3-(5'-O-dimethoxytrityl)-β-D-2-deoxyribofuranosyl)-6-methylpyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2-one is synthesized by modified phosphoramidite chemistry. It is a single enantiomer with high purity and good solubility in organic solvents.
