Product Information
- Palladium(2+) Bromide Ammoniate (1:2:4)
Tetraamminepalladium(II) bromide (PdBr 4 ) is a red-brown solid that is insoluble in water. It decomposes at temperatures greater than 150 °C. Tetraamminepalladium(II) bromide is used in the preparation of catalyst for oxidation reactions, such as epoxidation, and can be used to create metal oxides. It has been shown to be effective in the concentration range of 0.1-100 mg/L, with an optimum range of 1-10 mg/L. This compound is also a corrosion inhibitor and can be used as a coating on metals such as vanadium, titanium, and nickel. When mixed with benzene or other organic compounds, it may form an oxide film on the surface of the metal that prevents oxidation. Tetraamminepalladium(II) bromide is also used as a reagent for synthesizing oxirane from ethylene oxide and hydrogen
