Product Information
9-Ethylcarbazole-3-boronic Acid is a synthetic compound that consists of 9-ethylcarbazole and boronic acid, which are linked by an anhydride. It is used as a photophysical device for the detection and characterization of molecules. 9-Ethylcarbazole-3-boronic Acid has been shown to have a high extinction coefficient and can be used in analytical methods for active compounds. This material has been synthesized in order to produce a molecule with a specific shape, known as the archetypal skeleton. The synthesis process begins with the addition of phenylmagnesium bromide to 2-(trimethylsilyl)ethanol, followed by reaction with ethylchloroformate in dichloromethane. This product is then subjected to hydrolysis at elevated temperature with water and hydrochloric acid to produce 9-ethylcarbazole 3-boronic acid.
