Product Information
Styrene is a colorless liquid with a sweet odor that is soluble in benzene, toluene, and other organic solvents. It has low toxicity and a low boiling point of 80-85°C. Styrene is used in the production of polystyrene plastics, resins, rubber, paints and adhesives. 1,2-Diethenylbenzene (1,2-DB) is an aromatic hydrocarbon that has been shown to have thermal expansion properties similar to styrene. It can be used as an analytical method for determining the orientation of crystals in oriented crystal lattices. Polymorphs are different crystalline forms of the same chemical compound. Polymorphs can be modeled using molecular modelling software such as Chem3D Pro. Metal ions bind to the skeleton of aromatic compounds and form coordination complexes by donating electron pairs from their outer orbitals to the empty orbitals on the ring system. Acceptor atoms interact with donor atoms by accepting electron pairs
