Bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-1-carboxamide is a vasoconstrictor that is used to help stop bleeding and reduce the risk of blood clots in people who have had surgery. It is an active ingredient in a number of products, such as Vasopressin, Vasoflex, and Cyclohexamine. This compound has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on platelets and serotonin release. Bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-1-carboxamide has also been shown to be a suppressive agent that decreases the activity of certain cells involved in allergic reactions, such as T cells and mast cells.
