Product Information
Benzotriazole-1-yl-acetic acid ethyl ester is an active compound that is the benzotriazole analogue of benzotriazole-1-yl-acetic acid methyl ester. It is a pharmacophore with a psychomotor stimulant effect and has been shown to have neurotoxicity. Benzotriazol-1-yl-acetic acid ethyl ester binds to the glutamate receptor and increases the amount of glutamate released by binding to the amide site on the receptor. This leads to increased neurotransmitter release, which in turn leads to increased neuronal activity.
