Description:

Octavinyl-T8-silsequioxane is a monomer that can be used as a cross-linking agent in the preparation of polymers. It has been shown to have good optical properties and high thermal expansion. Octavinyl-T8-silsequioxane has also been shown to have antibacterial efficacy against Gram+ and Gram- bacteria, including methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and Mycobacterium avium complex. The chemical structure of octavinyl-T8-silsequioxane allows for it to bind with hydrochloric acid, which may account for its antibacterial activity.
