Product Information

Name:
1-Stearoyl-2-Hydroxy-sn-Glyc-3-Phosphatidylethanolamine
Description:

1-Stearoyl-2-Hydroxy-sn-Glyc-3-Phosphatidylethanolamine (1S2HPE) is a zwitterionic phospholipid that is present in human serum. It can be used as a marker for metabolic disorders, including cirrhosis and cancer. 1S2HPE is also known to be metabolized by microbes to produce fatty acids, which can be detected by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry. The fatty acid profile can then be used to identify bacteria that may have caused the infection. 1S2HPE has been shown to have an effect on endocannabinoid metabolism in women with endometriosis, which may lead to the development of cancerous cells.
