Product Information
- (S)-3,5-Dichloro-N-[(1-ethyl-2-pyrrolidinyl)methyl]-2,6-dihydroxy-benzamide
(S)-O-Desmethylraclopride is a dopamine receptor agonist with a protonated nitrogen atom. It is an analytical standard that can be used in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to measure the efficiency of an inorganic base and its ability to separate compounds by their solubility in different solvents. Raclopride has been shown to bind selectively to the dopamine D2 receptor, inhibiting the binding of dopamine and other ligands. This drug also binds to the D2 receptor at lower concentrations than those required for binding to the D1 receptor, making it useful for analyzing dopaminergic systems. Raclopride has been used as a positron emission tomography (PET) radioligand for mapping the distribution of D2 receptors in living animals, allowing scientists to study how drugs affect dopaminergic function.
