Cycloxydim-sulfone-glutaric acid (CXDSA) is a natural antibiotic that belongs to the group of antibiotics called sulfone antibiotics. It is an antibiotic with antiviral, antiparasitic, and antifungal activity. CXDSA has been shown to be effective against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Erysipelothrix insidiosa, and Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Typhimurium, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. CXDSA has also been shown to have anti-cancer effects in vitro and in vivo by inhibiting cell growth in tumor cells via protein synthesis inhibition.
