Product Information
- 5-(4-Methoxycarbonylphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl-21H,23H-porphine
5-(4-Methoxycarbonylphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin is a reactive molecule that binds to phosphatidylcholine and forms supramolecular complexes. It has been shown to be taken up by cells via endocytosis. This uptake is mediated by the presence of a light-sensitive pigment in the cell membrane. The molecule's hydrophobic nature allows it to bind with cell membranes, which may lead to death by apoptosis. 5-(4-Methoxycarbonylphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin also interacts with human ovarian carcinoma cells via hydrogen bonding and can cause the release of particles that are light sensitive.
