Product Information
Ethyl 2-amino(hydroxyimino)acetate (EAHA) is a molecule that inhibits bacterial gyrase and topoisomerase, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA. It binds to bacterial 16S ribosomal RNA and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. EAHA has been shown to be effective against gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. EAHA also has antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Enterococcus faecalis, and Clostridium difficile. EAHA was also found to have a potent inhibitory effect on the proteolytic activities of these bacteria.
