Product Information

Name:
1-Methyl-3-propylimidazolium Tetrafluoroborate
Description:

1-Methyl-3-propylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate is a cationic surfactant that is used in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy as an activating agent. It is usually used as a mixture with gold electrodes in the form of lamellar or multi-walled carbon nanotubes. 1-Methyl-3-propylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate has been shown to react rapidly with anions, such as sodium carbonate, and can be used for the production of activated carbons. The reaction rate increases when it is irradiated by UV light. This compound was synthesized from methyl 3-propyl imidazole and tetrafluoroboric acid and has a crystalline structure.
