Description:
4-(2-Methyl-1,3-thiazol-4-yl)benzoic acid (4MTBA) is a benzoic acid. It is used in the synthesis of other compounds such as an antiviral agent, an antifungal agent, and a herbicide. 4MTBA has been shown to be effective against herpes viruses and Candida albicans. The compound also has herbicidal properties that are similar to those of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D).
