Description:
4-Chloro-2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrazine-3-carbaldehyde is an alkylthio, alkoxy, and alkylsulfonyl drug used as a medicament. It is a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis in cells. 4-Chloro-2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrazine-3-carbaldehyde binds to the ribosomes of bacteria and prevents the production of proteins vital to cell division. This drug also inhibits RNA synthesis in cells by binding to the enzyme RNA polymerase.
