A-803467 is a novel amide that has shown antinociceptive effects in animal models. This drug blocks voltage-gated sodium channels and inhibits the release of excitatory neurotransmitters. A-803467 also blocks potassium channels, which can lead to an increase in the levels of cAMP and PGE2. A-803467 may be useful for treating cardiac arrhythmias, bone cancer, and diabetic neuropathy. It has also been shown to inhibit calcium entry through voltage-gated calcium channels.
