Product Information
Leukadherin 1 is a polymerase chain inhibitor that is used in vitro to treat bowel disease. It inhibits the bacterial translocation, which can lead to inflammatory bowel disease and Crohn's disease. Leukadherin 1 has been shown to inhibit the activity of integrin receptors on the surface of cells. This process prevents bacterial adhesion and invasion into intestinal tissue by blocking the binding site for bacterial attachment. Leukadherin 1 also inhibits the synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α. Leukadherin 1 has been shown to have bactericidal effects against various bacteria including Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhimurium, and Enterobacter aerogenes.
