It is also a fluorescent compound with an emission wavelength of approximately 420 nm. 4-(9H-Carbozol-9-yl)phenylboronic acid reacts quickly with halides and is sensitive to light. This reagent has been used as an acceptor in cross-coupling reactions, and it has been shown to react rapidly with a variety of fluorescers, including naphthalene.
