Product Information
2,7-Dibromo-9-(2-ethylhexyl)carbazole is an insoluble inorganic compound. It is a perovskite material that has been shown to exhibit reversible photoluminescence at room temperature. The chromophore in this compound is a carbazole group, which can be oxidized by heating the sample to thermally oxidize the compound. The reaction time of 2,7-Dibromo-9-(2-ethylhexyl)carbazole was found to be dependent on temperature and light emission was found to be dependent on ambient light conditions. This polymer film emits light when it is heated and irradiated with electromagnetic radiation (such as UV or visible light). Constant temperatures were found to increase the amount of light emitted from the polymer film. The reaction was also found to be catalyzed by palladium. Nitrogen atoms are required for the linear polymerization of this compound.
