Product Information
4-Bromo-5-fluoro-2-iodoaniline is an oxadiazole derivative that has been shown to have pharmacological activity. It has been found to inhibit the synthesis of DNA and RNA in bacteria, which may be due to its ability to bind to bacterial ribosomes. 4-Bromo-5-fluoro-2-iodoaniline also inhibits protein synthesis and cell division, leading to bacterial death. This compound binds covalently to the N7 nitrogen of guanine in DNA, preventing the conversion of guanine into xanthine and leading to mutations in the DNA sequence.
