Product Information

Name:
Monoethyl phthalate-d4
Description:

Monoethyl phthalate-d4 (MEPD) is a synthetic chemical that is used as an internal standard in the analysis of human urine. It is an ester that is used to monitor the levels of phthalates in urine. MEPD can be found in some air fresheners and personal care products, such as perfumes, shampoos, lotions, and cosmetics. The average level of MEPD in human urine samples has been reported to be 0.7 µg/L at a 95% confidence interval with a range from 0.2 µg/L to 1.1 µg/L. This chemical has been shown to be present in tobacco smoke and animal feedstock for food production. MEPD can be detected using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) or liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
