Product Information
N,N,4-Trimethylpyridin-2-amine is an alkyne that can be prepared by the reaction of 2-aminopyridine with formaldehyde. It is a useful intermediate for the synthesis of dialkyl trifluoromethanesulfonates and imines. N,N,4-Trimethylpyridin-2-amine is also a catalyst for the dehydrogenation of alkene to yield olefins. This compound reacts with pyridine in dimethylformamide to produce c-h bonds. The catalytic activity of this compound can be attributed to its electron withdrawing properties.
