Description:
Tridecyl borate is a synthetic detergent with a carboxylate, phosphorous acid, and alkylthio group. It is also a fatty acid which contains a hydroxyl group and a carbonyl group. Tridecyl borate has been used as an inhibitor of corrosion in carbon tetrachloride and for its viscosity-increasing properties in the manufacture of malic acid.
