Description:
2-Cyano-3-(4-methylphenyl)acrylic acid is a catalytic agent that is used to synthesize aromatic aldehydes. It is an efficient catalyst for the condensation of methylene compounds, with yields of up to 99%. Workup can be carried out using ionic liquids or by hydrolysis in basic solution. 2-Cyano-3-(4-methylphenyl)acrylic acid also has ionic properties.
