Product Information
Cinnamamide is a molecule that has been shown to increase the mitochondrial membrane potential in HL-60 cells. Cinnamamide also prevents the decrease in the number of mitochondria and reverses the effects of oxidative stress on these cells. It has also been shown to have neuroprotective effects, which may be due to its ability to protect against glutamate toxicity. Cinnamamide has been shown to increase ATP production and improve cell survival by increasing neurotrophic factors such as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF). The amide group of cinnamamide is metabolized by CYP3A4, which is present in human serum. These metabolites are excreted through urine or feces.
