Description:

N,N'-Diisopropylbenzamide is an amido-type ligand that has been synthesised and characterised by X-ray crystallography. It is a reductive eliminator that undergoes a hydride transfer reaction with Grignard reagents to produce organolithium compounds. It also reacts with silicon to form silicon amido-complexes, which can be detected using detection methods such as gas chromatography or nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. N,N'-Diisopropylbenzamide has been used in the synthesis of amides and benzoates. It can also catalyze the dismutation of organic peroxides into oxygen and water via single electron oxidation.
