4-Benzooxazol-2-yl-phenylamine is a potent cytotoxic compound that inhibits the growth of cells by binding to epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptors. This compound also shows potent antitumor activity and binds with high affinity to the EGF receptor. 4-Benzooxazol-2-yl-phenylamine has been shown to inhibit cancer cell lines in vitro, including cisplatin resistant cells and staphylococcus isolates. This drug has been shown to cause apoptosis in cultured cells and inhibit tumor growth in vivo. 4-Benzooxazol-2-yl-phenylamine is also an inhibitor of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR).
