Aniline hydroiodide is a cross-linking agent that forms bonds between hydroxyl groups on polymers and anhydrous acetonitrile. It is used in chromatography, optical imaging, and sulfonic acid chemistry. This chemical has been used as a solid catalyst for organic reactions. Aniline hydroiodide is also used to form aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons by bond cleavage with boron nitride or anhydrous acetonitrile.
