Product Information

Name:
UCSF4226
Description:

UCSF4226 is a novel synthetic small molecule that activates the melatonin receptor. It has been shown to modulate physiological processes, such as circadian rhythm and sleep quality. UCSF4226 is a competitive antagonist of the melatonin receptor, binding to it with high affinity and selectivity. The compound has been shown to be efficacious in animal models of jet lag and chronic insomnia. UCSF4226 also improves cognition in animals and may have applications in optimizing performance during military operations or other demanding tasks. UCSF4226 is orally active, has a long half-life, and does not cause sedation or weight gain. It can also be administered via subcutaneous injection or inhalation (for rapid onset). In addition, UCSF4226 is selective for the melatonin receptor over other G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) at all doses tested.
