- 2-Anilinophenylacetic Acid
2-Anilinophenylacetic acid is a structural analog of the bronchial and human serum metabolite aniline. It has been used as a model compound to investigate the metabolism of aniline in humans. The elimination half-life of 2-anilinophenylacetic acid is 1.2 hours, and its excretion route is renal, with a renal clearance rate of 0.1 L/min. 2-Anilinophenylacetic acid has been shown to undergo dehydrohalogenation in wastewater treatment, which may be due to the presence of chlorine or bromine ions. This reaction time can be decreased by adding activated charcoal, which binds to the phenolic group on the molecule and prevents its interaction with other reactants in wastewater treatment facilities.
2-Anilinophenylacetic acid also has shown potential for use in pharmaceutical preparations that are administered orally or intravenously and are excreted primarily by the kidneys,
