Fenoxaprop is a herbicide that acts as an acaricide, insecticide, and nematicide. It inhibits the enzyme fatty acid synthase in insects and plants, which leads to increased levels of unsaturated fatty acids in the cell membrane. Fenoxaprop also has a synergistic effect with other chemicals such as fenoxycarb and pyrethroid insecticides. Fenoxaprop is not active against fungi or bacteria. Fenoxaprop is metabolized by bacteria to fenoxaprop-p-ethyl, which can be detected for up to 50 days after application.
