Product Information
Duocarmazine is a pyrimidine compound that has potent antitumor activity. It functions by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA and RNA, which are essential for cell replication. Monoclonal antibodies can be used to target tumor cells with high specificity and this drug has been shown to be effective against urothelial carcinoma, cervical cancer, and melanoma. Duocarmazine also inhibits the production of death protein in hematopoietic cells, which leads to the inhibition of tumor growth in vitro. This drug also binds to epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptors on keratinocytes, leading to a decreased production of EGF in vitro. Duocarmazine may have immunosuppressive effects on T-cells because it binds to toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2).
