Isopropylsulphonyl)acetonitrile (IPASAN) is a chemical that inhibits protein tyrosine kinases. It binds to the active site of these enzymes, thereby preventing them from phosphorylating their substrates, which inhibits protein synthesis and cell division. IPASAN has been shown to be effective against some cancers, including leukemia, breast cancer, and prostate cancer. IPASAN also inhibits the activity of herbicides such as 2-chloropyridine and cyclisation reactions such as hydrogen chloride.
