Product Information
- 1,3-Benzodioxole-5-carboxamide, N-(1-propylbutyl)-
- N-(1-Propylbutyl)-1,3-benzodioxole-5-carboxamide
N-(heptan-4-yl)benzo[D][1,3]dioxole-5-carboxamide is a benzodioxole that is metabolized in the liver by cytochrome P450 enzymes to an active metabolite. The metabolism of this drug is monitored using multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) and liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS). Studies have shown that this drug has subchronic oral toxicity. It also binds to human liver catechol-O-methyltransferase, which may be associated with its hepatotoxic effects. N-(heptan-4-yl)benzo[D][1,3]dioxole-5-carboxamide has been found to inhibit glutamate release from nerve endings and protect against glutamate neurotoxicity in vitro.
