Aprepitant is a drug that is used as an anti-emetic to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. It is a peptide that binds to the receptor NK1 in the brain, which blocks the action of substance P, a neurotransmitter that causes nausea. Aprepitant also blocks the action of serotonin and dopamine, which are neurotransmitters involved in nausea and vomiting.
