Description:
(R)-5,5-Dimethyl-4-phenyloxazolidin-2-one is a chiral, benzenesulfinic aldehyde that reacts efficiently with sulfones to form chiral sulfones. (R)-5,5-Dimethyl-4-phenyloxazolidin-2-one is an azomethine that has the potential to act as a substrate for homoallylamines. It has been shown to react with titanium tetrachloride in the presence of methylene chloride and titanium tetrachloride to form optically pure (S)-methylenebis(3-(3,4-dimethoxybenzoyl)benzenesulfonate).
