Description:

2',7'-Difluorofluorescein is a fluorescent dye that is used for the detection of HIV infection. It has also been used to measure the rate constant for photosynthetic bacteria, as well as being able to identify squamous cell carcinoma. This compound has been shown to have biochemical properties similar to fluorescein, which include Michaelis-Menten kinetics and a disulfide bond. 2',7'-Difluorofluorescein has been used in polymer compositions and cyclic peptides, which inhibit the activity of inhibitor molecules. This compound may act as an allosteric inhibitor of receptor activity and may be involved in transfer reactions.
