2,2',3,3'-Tetrahydro-5,5'-bithieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxine is a polythiophene derivative that has been immobilized on a glassy carbon electrode. It has shown potential for use as an optical polymer film and in the fabrication of nanomaterials. The immobilized material has also been used to study low detection limits for selenium compounds and ruthenium complexes. 2,2',3,3'-Tetrahydro-5,5'-bithieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxine is a polymerized compound that can be photoelectrochemically or electrochemically polymerized in solution. This compound has low redox potential and can be used to produce polymers with new properties such as transport properties or optical properties.
